We built Shortlist because hiring stopped measuring the work.

Most platforms that touch hiring optimize for volume. More applicants per role. More roles per recruiter. More signals scraped from more places. Volume is easy to measure and easy to charge for. The thing it doesn't fix is whether anyone in the pipeline can actually do the job.

We're not in the volume business. The Verified path is intentionally slow on the front end so it can be fast everywhere it matters — at the match, at the interview, at the decision. Two and a half hours of real work for a credential that travels with you, in exchange for a job search that doesn't reset every time you switch companies. That's the trade we believe in.

We didn't start with a hiring product and add verification. We started by asking what would make a senior engineer trust a stranger's resume.
